About the event

Join us as the Mustang Heritage Spectacular takes over the Williamson County Ag Expo Park, June 20-23, 2024.

Created and presented by the Mustang Heritage Foundation, the purpose of the Mustang Heritage Spectacular competition is to showcase the beauty, versatility, and trainability of American mustangs. The Mustang Heritage Spectacular will consist of the Celebrity Freestyle Challenge, the Extreme Mustang Makeover, and a Mustang Heritage Foundation Open Show.

Mustang Heritage Spectacular – Extreme Mustang Makeover

Trainers will showcase the trust they are able to build with an untouched wild horse in just 120 days of training. The trainers and horses will compete in three preliminary classes — handling & conditioning, trail, and maneuvers. Their total points from these three preliminary classes will determine who will move forward into the Top 10 Freestyle Finals for their chance to be crowned Mustang Heritage Spectacular – Extreme Mustang Makeover Champion. With cash and prizes up for grabs, it’s going to be SPECTACULAR!

Celebrity Freestyle Challenge

Join us as some of the country’s most elite mustang trainers take center stage. Our celebrity trainers will lay it all on the line with unique, awe-inspiring freestyle routines of their own creation. You’ll be on the edge of your seat cheering on these talented trainers and their horses to see who is crowned Mustang Heritage Spectacular Celebrity Freestyle Challenge Champion!

Open Show

The Mustang Heritage Foundation Open Shows are the perfect opportunity to test your skills, challenge yourself as a horseman, and meet others in our mustang and burro community.

Any BLM-branded, Forest Service, or Reservation mustang or burro is eligible to compete in MHF Open Shows.

Classes to include: Pattern, Trail, Ranch Riding, Liberty, Freestyle, Dressage, Jumping, Costume, Lead-Line, and More with Divisions for Adults, Youth, and Burros
